OSACH has developed the blueprint for the CSA Z1000 standard and is piloting this model in partnership with HealthForceOntario.  This model is the first of its kind in Canada, designed specifically for healthcare, and combines worker, patient, and public safety.

Their safety performance has improved year over year with 25 lost time accidents in 2006, 13 in 2007 and year- to- date 2008 4. Medical aid has decreased from 12 in 2006 to 5 year- to- date. These figures are not acceptable, however they are trending in the right direction and they are working diligently at improving these results.
