OSACH (Ontario Safety Association for Community and Healthcare) has the developed the blueprint  for the CSA Z1000 standard and piloting this model in partnership with HealthForceOntario. This model and the associated tools have been designed specifically for healthcare. It is a comprehensive, holistic approach for organizations to develop a management system, (the first of its kind) that combines worker, patient and public safety.

An 18 month process evaluation being lead through McMaster is in progress and will be completed in Dec 08. Also check out the last HealthForceOntario newsletter.
