Hubbell Canada LP - Ten Top Strategies to Reduce Accidents to Zero
Hubbell Canada LP is comprised of two facilities, one in Pickering and the other in Montreal. The Pickering facility is 150,000 square feet and its location includes a central distribution centre for the Canadian market. This facility conducts light manufacturing of service poles and power bars, as well as housing head office marketing, sales and customer service staff. The Montreal facility is 44,000 square feet and performs metal press manufacturing of wall and ceiling boxes and plates. Hubbell Canada LP employs 300 employees across Canada; approximately 130 employees are located in Pickering and 110 employees in Montreal.
The Montreal facility received OHSAS 18001 certification thorough QMI. This system is aligned with their ISO 18001 quality program. Milestones completed year-to-date under the program include ensuring that all equipment is properly machine guarded. Management meetings are held with the Joint Health & Safety Committee, and all employees are fully engaged and understand policies designed to improve safety of each work cell during kaizen events. The facility is now utilizing equipment risk analysis data and completing remaining tasks.
